Today's gold and silver price

The spot price is the market price of one troy ounce of pure metal. Melt value is what the pure metal in one gram of your piece is worth at that price. Both are market numbers, not our buy price: your offer depends on testing, weight, and the piece itself.

How selling works

A few minutes at the counter

No appointment needed. Here's what happens when you come in.

  1. We test the metal

An acid or electronic test confirms the karat or purity, right in front of you.

  2. We weigh it

On a certified scale you can see, with the weight shown before we talk numbers.

  3. You get an offer

Based on today's market price for gold or silver. Take the cash, or think it over.

Common questions

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk in any time during store hours. If you have a large collection, a quick call ahead helps us make time for you.

How do you decide what to pay?

We test the metal to confirm its purity, weigh it, and work from that day's gold or silver market price. Some pieces, like certain coins and branded jewelry, can be worth more than their metal. How gold is priced explains the details.

What do I need to bring?

The items and a valid government-issued photo ID. Georgia requires us to record ID for every purchase.

What if I'm not sure it's real gold?

Bring it anyway. We'll test it in front of you at no charge and tell you what it is, whether or not you sell.

Can I pawn my gold instead of selling it?

Yes. If you want the piece back later, a pawn loan gets you cash now and lets you pick it up when you repay.
